Help Keep the Mitchell's Brand Alive
I know many of you have been concerned about my pending retirement, and the likely dissolution of Mitchell’s Fine Chocolates after 77 years as an artisan family-run business. About three weeks ago, a young couple approached me with a plan that would allow the brand to continue while enabling me to step into a more manageable role as coach and mentor.
The Hallaman family has been part of our Greek Orthodox community for several generations, and it is young Jason Hallaman and his lovely wife, Emily Bean, who have come up with a plan to extend the Mitchell’s family legacy to a new generation of chocolate lovers.
But they need your help. Last week they launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the initial capital necessary to sustain the business through our traditional slow (summer) season, while they learn the business, restock supplies and revitalize Mitchell’s marketing efforts.
Please take a few minutes to read about the campaign, and the passion that Jason and Emily have for this business. And, whether you are or are not in a position to contribute, please know how deeply your continued loyalty has meant to me and my parents. If the campaign fails to meet its goal, we will be selling off our equipment and fixtures, and liquidating all chocolates and remaining supplies shortly after the Memorial Day holiday.
With kind regards...
